Combe Martin is set in a fertile valley or combe and is located where the Exmoor National Park and the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty meet. The approach along the coastal road offers glimpses of stunning scenery. Combe Martin itself is an ideal centre for walking and has the 630 mile South West Coastal Path going through it.

The history of Combe Martin includes a 12th century parish church, history going back a thousand years. This area was famous for fertile soil and a mild climate making it ideal for growing strawberries and hemp.
Mining became popular in the 16th century and evidence of these silver mines is still present.
